Terms of Service

RouteMux is an AI gateway for developers: one API, one balance, models from multiple providers. These Terms are the agreement between you and the operator of the RouteMux service ("we" or "us") governing your use of the RouteMux website, console, and API (together, the "Service").

By signing up for, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the product or by email; continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.

"We" or "us": the operator of the RouteMux products and services.

"Service": the routemux.com website and console, and the API gateway capabilities provided at api.routemux.com.

"Credit": prepaid balance you top up in advance and spend on model calls.

"You": the individual, organization, or business accessing or using the Service.

2.1 The core of the Service is forwarding your requests to third-party model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and others), with unified access, billing, and observability.

2.2 Models are provided by third parties. Upstream model capabilities, prices, quotas, and availability may change at any time. We work to keep things stable and promptly in sync, but we cannot guarantee that any particular model will remain available forever.

2.3 You must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to use the Service.

2.4 We may adjust, add, or retire features from time to time. Changes that affect benefits you have already purchased are handled under Sections 8 and 9.

3.1 Provide accurate, valid information when you sign up. Your account is for use by you (or your organization) only.

3.2 Keep your login credentials and API key safe. Any call made with your API key is billed to your account. If a key is leaked, revoke it in the console and generate a new one immediately.

3.3 You can request account deletion at any time. After deletion, you can request a refund of unused purchased Credit under Section 9.

4.1 Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for the content sent through your account and the results it produces.

4.2 The following are prohibited: using the Service for illegal activities; generating or distributing infringing or harmful content; attacking, probing, or disrupting the Service or upstream systems; circumventing billing, rate limits, or security mechanisms; reselling the Service without our written consent.

4.3 You must also comply with the acceptable use policy (AUP) of each model provider you call.

4.4 Depending on severity, we may respond to violations with rate limiting, suspension, or account termination. Credit involved in abuse is not refundable.

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.

6.1 The intellectual property in the Service itself (including the website, console, documentation, and brand assets) belongs to us.

6.2 The input you submit to models and the output returned to you belong to you (to the extent permitted by applicable law and upstream provider terms). We process this content only to complete your requests.

6.3 We may use feedback and suggestions you give us about the Service free of charge.

6.4 Copyright complaints: if you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to [email protected] as required by the Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528) of Hong Kong, including proof of your rights and the location of the infringing material. We will handle valid notices promptly.

7.1 Generative AI output is probabilistic and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or factually wrong. Output is not professional advice; use your own judgment before relying on it. Losses caused by relying on output are your own responsibility.

7.2 The Service is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts to keep it stable, but we are not liable for temporary unavailability caused by force majeure, upstream failures, network outages, and the like.

7.3 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or data loss. Our total liability to you is capped at the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

8.1 The Service is usage-based: you top up Credit in advance, and each call is deducted in real time at the model prices published in the console.

8.2 Model prices may change. Changes do not apply retroactively to usage that has already occurred. Major price changes will be announced in the console in advance.

8.3 Payments are processed by Stripe; the Stripe invoice is the authoritative record of your top-up.

8.4 If applicable law requires taxes to be withheld, those taxes are your responsibility.

9.1 Unused purchased Credit is refundable: contact [email protected] from your account email, with your payment record and the reason.

9.2 The following are not refundable: Credit that has been consumed; trial, gifted, and promotional Credit; Credit frozen due to violations or abuse.

9.3 Once approved, the refund is returned to the original payment method after a 5% platform service fee is deducted, usually within 3-10 bank business days (actual timing depends on the payment channel).

9.4 When your account is deleted or the Service is terminated, unused purchased Credit is handled under this section as well.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. For disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, both parties should first try to resolve them amicably; failing that, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

11.1 We may update these Terms. We will give advance notice of material changes in the product or by email; continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.

11.2 You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service if you seriously violate these Terms. After termination, unused purchased Credit is handled under Section 9.
